What Tablight reads from the tab
A
capo
line is picked up and applied automatically.
The
tuning
— the string labels down the left edge — is read for every block.
Keep the
six string rows the same length
so bar lines and notes stay aligned.
Chords
written above the staff are detected, and mapped onto either the tab below them or the lyric/text line they sit over.

Notes and chords
Tap one key for a single note. On a touchscreen, hold several keys down at the same time to enter them together as a chord — it's added when you lift your fingers.
A mouse can only click one key at a time, so the two chord buttons let you build a chord step by step:

Structure and editing

Tablight .json
: the notes, the recorded timing, and the tab (if the tab pane has one) together, so a single file carries the whole loop. Keep the proposed name to overwrite the file you loaded, or type a new one to save a copy.
A Tablight .json is the file that comes back whole — importing one fills both panes, melody and tab, so they always describe the song you just loaded (a melody with no tab clears the tab pane). A
MIDI is import-only
: it brings in notes alone, and Tablight never writes MIDI back out.
